Best Buy Antique Georgian Mahogany Pembroke Table

Antique Georgian Mahogany Pembroke Table

Product Description
This lovely mahogany pembroke table was hand-crafted in England around 1820 during the Georgian period. The mahogany displays an incredibly rich complexion and a striking grain. The richness of the mahogany owes to the elaborate finishing process that Georgian cabinetmakers employed in constructing their furniture; there were often over a dozen steps in the finishing process, which ended with a fine, hand-rubbed coat of wax. Waxing a piece just twice a year will keep it looking new indefinitely, with the result that this table still looks fantastic today. It also features a single drawer with hand-cut dovetailed joints, and the leaves continue to operate smoothly, expanding the table from 19" to 43" wide. This pembroke table has, however, sustained some minor wear, including various scuffs, but also including two minor separations in the table top, which are purely cosmetic and do not effect structural integrity. Overall condition is therefore very good.Dimensions: 19" wide x 36" deep x 28.5" high see details
